For decades, Dr. debi Story Maddox has expressed her Christian faith through original oil paintings, drawings, murals, books, and visionary design. A lifelong professional artist, designer, author, and illustrator, her work has inspired audiences with its spiritual depth, distinctive symbolism, and enduring message of hope. Whether working on a monumental oil painting, an intimate drawing, a mural, or the written page, debi's work reflects a lifelong pursuit of beauty, truth, and the enduring power of faith.

Her paintings have often been described as ethereal, spiritual, and prophetic. As a series artist, debi allows each body of work to unfold naturally before embarking upon an entirely new artistic journey exploring fresh themes, colors, and concepts.

debi's original oil paintings and drawings have been exhibited in galleries, juried exhibitions, and museums, including the Dallas Museum of Biblical Arts. Her interior murals were featured on HGTV's Surreal Estate, and her artwork has appeared in newspaper and magazine articles, television interviews, and a nationally broadcast thirty-minute television special.

For several years, debi co-owned and operated In Mind's Eye, a respected fine art gallery in Dallas, Texas. In addition to exhibiting the outstanding artwork of the gallery's owners, the gallery represented twenty-four accomplished artists. Later, she founded and operated Story Maddox Gallery in historic Manitou Springs, Colorado.

She is the author and illustrator of Wordivore World: Awakening of the Tongue and the coffee-table art book Visual Prayers. Together with her husband, Dr. Michael Maddox, she co-authored Lightning Bolts & Butterflies.

A passionate world traveler, debi has drawn inspiration from museums, sacred sites, castles, and historic landmarks throughout the United States, Europe, and Israel — including the Louvre in Paris, Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, Glastonbury Abbey, the White Cliffs of Dover, and magnificent Gothic cathedrals.

Her original paintings and published works are found in private, corporate, institutional, and celebrity collections throughout the United States and abroad.

In recognition of her lifetime achievements and contributions to the visual arts, Aidan University in Jacksonville, Florida, awarded Dr. debi Story Maddox an Honorary Doctor of Sacred Arts Degree. Today, debi continues to create original artwork, write, and inspire collectors and audiences with a body of work that reflects a lifetime of faith, creativity, and artistic excellence.
